Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and detail-focused PDI Technician to join our engineering team at our Rotherham depot.

1 Up Access is a leading supplier of access equipment, providing high-quality solutions to customers across the UK. We operate from our purpose-built depot in Rotherham, with a modern fleet of industry-leading access equipment and dedicated engineering bays.

As a Yard Based PDI Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring our machines are fully inspected, prepared, and ready to go out on hire. You will work closely with our engineering and yard teams to make sure equipment meets our required standards before it leaves the depot.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections on a wide range of access equipment
• Check machines for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Ensure machines are safe, clean, and ready for hire
• Identify and report any defects or maintenance requirements
• Complete PDI documentation and inspection records accurately
• Carry out basic maintenance and adjustments where required
• Work closely with the engineering team to ensure any faults are rectified before machines are dispatched
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard of safety and quality
• Assist with general workshop and yard duties when required

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with plant, access equipment, or similar machinery is preferred
• Experience carrying out PDI inspections would be advantageous
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and hardworking
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Full UK driving licence is preferred
